Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.
If we don’t feel, we can’t heal. When we choose to anesthetize or avoid our emotions, we quench the Spirit. It disassociates us from reality, which means we are living in a fantasy world. Yup, that’s right. If we escape from reality, even for a moment, we enter fantasyland. And fantasyland is just that, a fantasy. It’s not reality; it’s a lie! To live freely, we must be honest with others and ourselves. That means being honest with our emotions, too.
When God created you, He also created all of your emotions. They are a part of who you are. Therefore, denying your emotions really means denying yourself. Simply put, it’s self-abandonment. What you have been fearing from others is exactly what you have done to yourself. This is not God’s plan…
