It’s been a while since I posted here (I’ve been busy and, yes, lazy – mea culpa), but recently there’s been a few things popping up that caught my eye and inspired me to write some thoughts down.
Mainly, it was Stephen Hawking following the Friedrich Nietzsche route and declaring that God is Dead.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love Stephen Hawking. He’s an amazing man and a true genius that continues to work and produce despite such debilitating illness. But, Marcelo Gleiser over at NPR.org has a point: Hawking’s argument has just slightly more empirical evidence supporting it than that of a Creationist, but it’s by no means a slam-dunk. Hawking cites a timeless realm which contains every possible universe, including our own. The evidence of this is…what, exactly?
